Stevenson’s Fall Family Weekend: A Recap

Thank you to all the Stevenson families who filled both campuses for Fall Family Weekend. Beginning with a lively reception and state of the school remarks on the Carmel Campus, followed by a packed weekend of conferences, events, grade level meetings, receptions, athletics and a few quiet moments together.

Earlier this month, Stevenson families filled both campuses for Fall Family Weekend. Beginning with a lively reception and state of the school remarks on the Carmel Campus, followed by a packed weekend of conferences, events, grade level meetings, receptions, athletics and a few quiet moments together, it was a reminder of how much our community shows up for one another

State of the School: An Update on Our Values

One of the weekend’s centerpiece moments was Thursday evening’s State of the School, where Dr. Dan Griffiths updated families on Stevenson’s yearlong exploration of its core values. The conversation continued with Aimée Bates and Phillip Koshi moderating a conversation with a group of students, who shared personal stories about moments when Stevenson’s values mattered most to them – how those values have guided their choices, and why they still matter in a changing world. It was a chance for families to think not just about what students accomplish at Stevenson, but who they become while they’re here.

Community, On and Off Campus

The weekend’s spirit showed up everywhere – in the Upper Division Arts Show, in packed stands at Pirate Athletics events across both campuses, and in the crowd cheering on Friday Night Lights against our cross-town rivals, Pacific Grove. Saturday brought families together for a beach clean-up and picnic at Carmel Beach, pairing community service with sun, views and good company.

Thank you to every Pirate parent, guardian and family member who made the trip to campus, registered for a session, or simply showed up for a conversation. We’re already looking forward to Spring Family Weekend.
