Lower & Middle Divisions
- Friday, September 27 is a Free Dress Day. Please check in with your child's teacher regarding any questions about what is allowed on Free Dress Days.
- Are you interested in hosting a Back to School Family Social? This is a great way to kick off the new school year, get reacquainted with friends and meet the new families in your class. We are looking for one or two families per grade (PK-8) to host these events. Please email Gina Nobida if you are interested.
- Parents, please use your yellow placards during carline, as it moves things along safer and faster. If you need additional placards for anyone who picks up your children, please contact Jackie DiYanni.
Lower Division
- We are excited to invite all families to join us for our Lower Division Assembly on Friday, September 27 from 8:15 a.m. to 8:45 a.m., which will be led by our grade 4 students. The assembly will take place at the amphitheater and we look forward to seeing you there as we celebrate our students and build community together. Please reach out to Jackie DiYanni with any questions.
- Please remember to check the Lost and Found daily for any of your child's missing items. We have installed hooks on the south side of the building (next to the storage container by the blacktop) where we will hang any lost belongings. To help us quickly identify and return lost items, we kindly ask that you label your child's belongings with their names.
Middle Division
- The Middle Division is conducting baseline MAP assessments this week, from Tuesday to Friday, during students' math and English classes. Please encourage your children to get a good night's sleep and eat a healthy breakfast. By maintaining our regular schedule for MAP assessments, we aim to reduce stress and normalize this form of data gathering. Please refer to the letter sent on September 16 for additional information.
- We had a great start to the After School Program (ASP) last week. Middle Division students who are signed up for an after school workshop will begin this week. Please remind your children if they are signed up for a class or activity and review your pick up schedule. Refer to your Pirate Page for information and updates on ASP. Contact Maddy Springfield with any questions.
- Middle Division Family Math Information Night: Mrs. Kjellgren will host a virtual meeting on Thursday, September 26 at 7 p.m. for parents/guardians to learn more about math at Stevenson and the Desmos Math platform. This is designed for parents/guardians for grades 7 and 8; however, grade 5 and 6 parents/guardians are welcome to take a peek into the future. Click here to register. A zoom link for this event will be posted on the calendar. Or you can join the Math Night meeting here.

- Monday, September 23 (tomorrow) will be our Day of Service. Students will begin the day at 8:30 a.m. with an opening assembly and advisory meeting before spending the day volunteering with various organizations, both on campus and across the community.
- On Wednesday, September 25, 7 p.m. – 8 p.m., the College Center's partner Smarttrack will host a webinar titled "What Parents Need to Know Now about Paying Less for College." All families of students in grades 9–11 are welcome to attend. RSVP is required; please register on your Pirate Page.
- The last day to add or change a course is Friday, September 27. Note that students may still drop a course or change down from an advanced course until the Friday after Family Weekend, but early changes are strongly recommended.
- Community Curriculum for Grade 9: On October 1, we will meet with grade 9 students to discuss phones, electronics and social media. We will be looking at how much we are using our phones and understanding how social media and algorithms function. The Student Life team will lead 9th graders through small breakout discussions to talk through ways we can be more aware of our habits surrounding our phones and social media consumption. In the afternoon, faculty will offer de-stressing activities for all students (9-12) to relax, decompress and enjoy their afternoons together.
- October 1 SAT/PSAT Day: Please be on the lookout for communication from the College Center about SAT/PSAT details.
- For all major breaks (Thanksgiving, Winter and Spring Break) shuttles will be available to reserve from campus to San Jose and San Francisco airports for residential students. Stevenson helps arrange a shuttle to depart from campus on Friday, November 22 at 3:30 p.m. and Saturday, November 23 at 7:30 a.m. Keep an eye out for a signup link in next week's communication to reserve the shuttle for the upcoming Thanksgiving Break.
- We offer a variety of fun activities for our students every weekend. These are open to both boarding and day students. Curious about what is offered? Check out the weekend activities that are updated each week on your Pirate Page!
