- Grounds for Giving: You're invited to spend time with us tomorrow, October 6, 8 a.m. – 8:45 a.m., at the Carmel House to enjoy coffee and special treats from Rise + Roam, while learning more about the Stevenson Annual Fund. Register here. We aim to give you helpful information about the Annual Fund, answer your questions and get to know you better. It will be a great way to start off the week!
- Regular Late Start this Wednesday, October 8: School starts at 8:45 a.m. for Lower Division and 9 a.m. for Middle Division.
- School Closure: Please note that there will be no classes this Friday, October 10, as our faculty prepares for conferences. This is a good opportunity for Middle Division students to catch up on any missing or late work.
- Flu Clinic: The Carmel campus flu clinic is Monday, October 13, 8:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. This event is being organized in collaboration with Central Avenue Pharmacy, a trusted healthcare provider with expertise in immunizations. Please register via the email sent from Stevenson School Health Center on September 23 and return the flu vaccine consent form and proof of insurance to the administrative office. Although the flu vaccine is not mandatory this school year, this initiative is designed to ensure the safety and well-being of our school community, particularly during the flu season. Please contact Carmel campus nurse Jeanette Vela if you have questions or need the invitation for your child to be resent.
- Carmel Campus State of the School: Join us Wednesday, October 15, 5 p.m. – 5:45 p.m., to hear President Dr. Dan Griffiths and Chair of the Board of Trustees Ms. Cynthia Chapman '83 provide an update on our school and their vision for the exciting year ahead.
- School Picture Ordering Now Open: You may now view your student's photo on the Generations School Photography website. You will need to find your online code by entering your student's 9-digit ID number – which can be found on your Pirate Page – on the "Student" tab. Fall picture make up day is Friday, November 7. To schedule your child's individual photo with Generations School Photography, please contact Jackie DiYanni.
Lower Division
- Upcoming Field Trips: Pre-Kindergarten will explore the fascinating Monterey Bay Aquarium this Tuesday, October 7. The bus will depart at 10:30 a.m. and return at 12:30 p.m. Kindergarten will venture to The Farm, an agricultural education center and pumpkin patch, this Wednesday, October 8. The bus will depart at 9:15 a.m. and return at 11:45 a.m.
- After-School Homework Option: Based on feedback from families during the parent roundtables, students in Grades 2–4 may now complete their homework during the free play portion of the after-school care if they are on campus during that time. This gives students a chance to use that time productively if they choose. Parents should still check homework when students get home but we hope this helps support students in balancing their responsibilities.
Middle Division
- MAP Testing: Fall MAP testing will take place the mornings of October 7 and October 9. These will be the only days set aside for MAP testing. Please review Preparing for MAP Testing, which was also shared with students.
- Parent/Guardian and Teacher Conferences: Conferences will be held October 16-18. Students are welcome, but not required, to attend.

- Fall Family Weekend – Conference Signups: Parent/guardian and teacher conferences will take place during Fall Family Weekend. You may now sign up for your conference on your Pirate Page. We hope you'll also take advantage of the important opportunity to schedule conferences with your child's teachers.
- Flu Clinic: Stevenson, along with Central Avenue Pharmacy, will be hosting two flu clinics on campus this year: October 8 and 27. We highly recommend having your student vaccinated. If you would like your student to participate in the clinic, please fill out this consent form and return it to the Health Center at [email protected] by October 26. We will be using student medical insurance so there will be no cost to you.
- Grade 9 Field Trips: These field trips will take place on Monday, October 13, and Tuesday, October 14. Students will depart from the front circle at 7:30 a.m. on the day they have English class on their regular schedule and at 8:30 a.m. on the day that they don't. Students will return in time to participate in co-curricular activities.
- School Photos and Retake Day: You may now view your student's photo, taken on Thursday, September 4, on the Generations School Photography website. You will need to find your online code by entering your student's 9 digit ID number, which can be found on your Pirate Page on the "Student" tab. Picture packages that are ordered will be mailed directly to your home. Students who did not have their picture taken on that day will need to have their picture taken on retake day – Wednesday, October 29, 10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., in Reid Dining Hall. If you have questions, please contact Michelle Boatman.
- Updates from Residential Life:
- Residential Education: Tomorrow, October 6, we will host our second residential education session. With our new students adjusting to boarding school life, our returning students adjusting to higher-level classes and our seniors focusing on college apps, this lesson will focus on stress management. With a lesson developed by our director of counseling, students will learn about different types of stress and engage in activities to develop healthy coping strategies.
- Family Weekend Passes: Boarding students are now able to create passes for Fall Family Weekend; passes are due this Friday, October 10, at 11:59 p.m. Students are welcome to leave campus on Wednesday, October 15, after school commitments; they should plan to return to campus no later than 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21.
- Airport Transportation: For all major breaks (Thanksgiving, winter and spring), shuttles will be available to reserve from campus to San Jose and San Francisco airports. If you wish to reserve a spot on the shuttle for your student for Thanksgiving break, you can use this form. Sign ups for the shuttle are due by November 17 at 4 p.m. Spots are limited so be sure to book early. Please note that Stevenson does not reserve shuttles for the return from break.
