- Reminder: Classes resume this Wednesday, October 22, after the Fall Family Weekend and break.
- Annual Fund: Say YES in October to the Parent and Guardian Annual Fund Campaign. Every Pirate gift matters and makes an immediate impact on the everyday experience on our campuses. - Upcoming Admissions Events:
- Upper Division: If you have friends who might be interested in applying to Stevenson's Upper Division for the upcoming school year, please encourage them to attend our Prospective Day Family Reception on Wednesday, October 22, at 7 p.m. on the Pebble Beach campus. Registration required.
- All Divisions: We're hosting four Future Pirates Parent Socials for prospective parents of Lower, Middle and Upper Divisions to meet our administrators and current parents while enjoying wine and light bites. If you know any prospective parents who are interested in attending, they can register here.

Lower and Middle Divisions
- A Heartfelt Thank You: We are so grateful to all the incredible Pirate parents/guardians who contributed dishes for our fabulous teachers and faculty at last week's luncheon! Your generosity and thoughtfulness helped make the appreciation luncheon truly special. Thank you for helping us celebrate them in such a meaningful way!
- Regular Late Start on October 22: This Wednesday, school starts at 8:45 a.m. for Lower Division and 9 a.m. for Middle Division.
- Halloween Celebration: Our annual Halloween celebration will take place on Friday, October 31, and families are invited to join the parade and carnival! The afternoon will be filled with fun activities, starting with our beloved Halloween parade and culminating in an all school carnival. The parade will take place from 1 p.m.-1:30 p.m.; our carnival will end at 3 p.m. Important: We are still seeking parent volunteers to help with setting up and running our Halloween carnival stations. Lower Division
- Upcoming Field Trips:
- Pre-K: The Farm – Students will enjoy a morning of exploration and learning at the farm; Thursday, October 23, 8:15 a.m. – 11 a.m.
- Grade 2: The Farm Stand – Students will connect their classroom learning to real-world experiences; Thursday, October 23, 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
- Grade 3: The Farm; Friday, October 24, 10:15 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
- Lower Division Assembly: Families are invited to join for the assembly, led by Grade 4 students, this Friday, October 24, at 8:15 a.m. in the Amphitheater. - Math Night: On Wednesday, October 29, 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., families of Kindergarten – Grade 4 students are invited to learn about our new math program, "New Perspectives: Contexts for Learning Mathematics." We're thrilled to have Maggie Day, consultant from New Perspectives, join us to help families understand the curriculum and share ideas for supporting math learning at home. Please register here.
- Halloween Reminders: As your child plans their costume, please keep the following guidelines in mind:
- Costumes should allow students to independently get in and out of them to use the restroom.
- No masks or face coverings.
- No political figures or costumes referencing political themes.
- No weapons or weapon-like props of any kind.
- Fall MAP Assessment Data: This information for Grades 3 and 4 students who have completed the assessment has been is now available on your Parent Pirate Pages. This data will provide insight into your child's progress.
Middle Division
- Costa Rica Information Night: Parents/guardians of students in Grades 7 and 8 are invited to join Kathryn Haggquist and Amy Spencer to learn about the student trip they are leading to Costa Rica in June 2026 through World Leadership School. The meeting will be held this Wednesday, October 22, from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Carmel campus.
- Reminder Grade 6 Parents: We will be taking a trip to Alcatraz on October 23 for literature study. Students need to be dropped off at the Pebble Beach campus by 6:45 a.m. in order for us to make the ferry on time. Students will return to Pebble Beach between 5:30 p.m. – 6 p.m. Please contact Ms. Wood if you have any questions.
- Halloween Costumes: In anticipation of Halloween, please talk to your child about their costume and make sure it's appropriate for a Pre-K – Grade 8 school. Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring that costumes are fun and age-appropriate for all students by steering clear of anything too scary, edgy, or otherwise unsuitable for school.
- MAP Scores: Results from the recent fall MAP assessments will be shared on Parent Pirate Pages. Parents/guardians will be notified when they are available.
- Midterm Reports: The reports are now available on your Parent Pirate Page.

Pebble Beach Campus Updates
|
- Thank you, Parents/Guardians! To all the parents/guardians who made last week's faculty and staff luncheon such a success – your contributions to the endless buffet, working at the luncheon and putting together amazing raffle baskets were very appreciated by our entire Pirate community!
- Homecoming Dance: This year's dance is this Saturday, October 25, 7 p.m. – 10 p.m., on Rosen stage on the Pebble Beach campus. This year's theme is Enchanted Forest. Tickets are $20 per person and are available for purchase. If students plan to bring a non-Stevenson guest, a Guest Pass Form must be submitted to Jordan Leiter by this Wednesday, October 22, at 3 p.m. Please note that non-Stevenson guests will not be allowed entry without an approved guest pass.
- Flu Clinic: Stevenson, along with Central Avenue Pharmacy, will be hosting our final flu clinic on October 27. We highly recommend having your student vaccinated. If you would like your student to participate in the clinic, please fill out the consent form and return it to the Health Center at [email protected] by October 26. We will be using student medical insurance, so there will be no cost to you.
- School Photos and Retake Day: You may now view your student's photo, taken on Thursday, September 4, on the Generations School Photography website. You will need to find your online code by entering your student's 9 digit ID number, which can be found on your Pirate Page on the "Student" tab. Picture packages that are ordered will be mailed directly to your home. Students who did not have their picture taken on that day will need to have their picture taken on retake day – Wednesday, October 29, 10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., in Reid Dining Hall. If you have questions, please contact Michelle Boatman.
- Winter Sports: Keep an eye out for training updates from your coaches during the last week of October. As we move from fall to winter, the training schedule may vary, so don't hesitate to reach out to Coach Clymo with any questions. Students can plan to begin on November 3. Communication will be sent based on the sport selections listed in Pirate Pages. Athletes participating in fall interscholastic sports, theater or tech should complete their current season before transitioning to their winter sport. Your winter season will begin once your fall commitment ends. If you're involved in a non-interscholastic sport, theater or tech activity, you'll need to officially check out with your current coach or director before starting winter training. Important Dates:

- Residential Life News:
- Halloween Is Coming Up! To celebrate, we will host many activities for residential students on campus on Friday, October 31. While students will not be able to leave campus that evening, we will offer trick-or-treating, pumpkin carving, a "Halloweenies" cookout and a student-hosted haunted house. The evening will be packed with fun!
- Airport Transportation for Residential Students: For all major breaks (Thanksgiving, winter, spring), shuttles will be available to reserve from campus to San Jose and San Francisco airports for residential students. Stevenson books shuttles for residential students traveling to the San Jose and San Francisco airports for Thanksgiving break. If you wish to reserve a spot on the shuttle for your student, you can use this form. Sign ups for the shuttle are due by November 17 by 4 p.m. Spots are limited so be sure to book early. Please note that Stevenson does not reserve shuttles for the return from break. If you wish to reserve a shuttle, you can do so using Groome Transportation.
- College Center News:
- Senior Parents: The virtual college coffee is this Thursday, October 23, 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Please register on your Parent Pirate Page.
- Junior Parents:
- College Tours: You have received information about the three college tours we are offering this year: Pacific Northwest, Southern California and the Mid-Atlantic region. Please refer to your Pirate Page for additional details and registration information. The registration deadline is this Wednesday, October 22.
- College Counselor Assignments: Remind your student to check their email for information about the college counselor selection process. The deadline to select preferences is October 31, and final counselor assignments will be shared by mid-November.
