- We Can't Wait to See You at Fall Family Weekend – Starting This Wednesday! Fall Family Weekend & Fall Break are almost here – October 15–21! The central point of the weekend is the opportunity to meet with your child's teachers and discuss their progress. Please be sure to schedule your conferences in advance. You can also look forward to community events and social gatherings where you'll connect with fellow families. Check out the new Fall Family Weekend video and explore the full daily schedule on our Fall Family Weekend webpage. Registration is available on your Pirate Page. Please note: there will be no classes October 16-21; classes resume Wednesday, October 22.
- Upcoming Admissions Events: If you have friends who might be interested in applying to Stevenson's Upper Division for the upcoming school year, please encourage them to attend our Prospective Day Family Reception on Wednesday, October 22, at 7 p.m. on the Pebble Beach campus. Registration required. We're also hosting four Future Pirates Parent Socials for prospective parents of Lower, Middle and Upper Divisions to meet our administrators and current parents while enjoying wine and light bites. If you know any prospective parents who are interested in attending, they can register here.

- PPC Fall Book Club Meeting: Are you enjoying "The Wedding People" by Alison Espach? The Pirate Parent Club is hosting our fall book club meeting on November 19, 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m., at the Bookworks in Pacific Grove. Carmel Campus Updates
|
Lower and Middle Divisions
- Flu Clinic: The Carmel campus flu clinic is tomorrow, October 13, 8:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. This event is being organized in collaboration with Central Avenue Pharmacy, a trusted healthcare provider with expertise in immunizations. Please register via the email sent from Stevenson School Health Center on September 23 and return the flu vaccine consent form and proof of insurance to the administrative office. Although the flu vaccine is not mandatory this school year, this initiative is designed to ensure the safety and well-being of our school community, particularly during the flu season. Please contact Carmel campus nurse Jeanette Vela if you have questions or need the invitation for your child to be resent.
- Regular Late Start this Wednesday, October 15: School starts at 8:45 a.m. for Lower Division and 9 a.m. for Middle Division.
- Conference Signups: Fall Family Weekend information, including conference sign-ups for October 16-18, is now available on your Pirate Page. Please sign up by this Tuesday, October 14.
- Carmel Campus State of the School: Join us at the amphitheater Wednesday, October 15, 5 p.m. – 5:45 p.m., to hear President Dr. Dan Griffiths and Chair of the Board of Trustees Ms. Cynthia Chapman '83 provide an update on our school and their vision for the exciting year ahead. Following the State of the School, you are invited to gather with fellow Pirate parents/ guardians, faculty and administrators for small bites, beverages and joyful conversation at the Middle Division patio.
- Faculty & Staff Appreciation Luncheon: Let's celebrate our amazing faculty and staff when Pirate parents/guardians host the appreciation luncheon during Fall Family Weekend, this Thursday, October 16, at the Carmel House. Please click here to contribute to the luncheon. Instructions for dropping off the items can be found on the signup sheet. Contact Gina Nobida if you have any questions.
- No Classes: There will be no classes during Fall Family Weekend, October 16 – 21. Classes resume on Wednesday, October 22.
- Halloween Carnival: Join us for a spooktacular celebration on Friday, October 31, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. More details to follow soon. If you'd like to volunteer and help make this event amazing, please contact Gina Nobida.
- School Picture Ordering Now Open: You may view your student's photo on the Generations School Photography website. You will need to find your online code by entering your student's 9-digit ID number – which can be found on your Pirate Page – on the "Student" tab. Fall picture make up day is Friday, November 7. To schedule your child's individual photo with Generations School Photography, please contact Jackie DiYanni.
Middle Division
- Map Testing Make Up Day: Testing make up day for students who had planned or excused absences is this Wednesday, October 15, at 7:30 a.m. This will be the only day to make up for a missed MAP test. Thank you, parents, for helping to prepare your students for the MAP testing last week.
- Costa Rica Information Night: Parents/guardians of students in Grades 7 and 8 are invited to join Kathryn Haggquist and Amy Spencer to learn about the student trip they are leading to Costa Rica in June 2026 through World Leadership School. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 22, from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Carmel campus.

Pebble Beach Campus Updates

- Grade 9 Field Trips: Please note the early drop off of 7:30 a.m. for the Grade 9 science field trip on Monday, October 13, or Tuesday, October 14. Please refer to Mr. Provost's earlier email for your personalized schedule.
- Fall Midterm Grades and Comments: Students will receive individualized feedback from each of their teachers on the evening of Wednesday, October 15, in advance of Fall Family Weekend; midterm grades are indicators of current standing and will not be included on transcripts. Please try to read teacher comments in advance of conferences. Students are not expected to attend conferences in the Upper Division, though they are welcome to if that is a family's preference.
- Faculty & Staff Appreciation Luncheon: Our grateful community of Pirate parents/guardians is hosting a special luncheon this Friday, October 17, on the Erdman Memorial Chapel deck. You are invited to contribute a family favorite dish; please see the details and sign up here. This potluck-style lunch is a favorite for all and your unique dishes are the reason why. Feel free to reach out to Corine Mink '87, director of parent programs, if you have any questions.
- Flu Clinic: Stevenson, along with Central Avenue Pharmacy, will be hosting our final flu clinic on October 27. We highly recommend having your student vaccinated. If you would like your student to participate in the clinic, please fill out the consent form and return it to the Health Center at [email protected] by October 26. We will be using student medical insurance, so there will be no cost to you.
- School Photos and Retake Day: You may now view your student's photo, taken on Thursday, September 4, on the Generations School Photography website. You will need to find your online code by entering your student's 9 digit ID number, which can be found on your Pirate Page on the "Student" tab. Picture packages that are ordered will be mailed directly to your home. Students who did not have their picture taken on that day will need to have their picture taken on retake day – Wednesday, October 29, 10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., in Reid Dining Hall. - Residential Life News:
- Weekend Passes: Passes for the upcoming long weekend were due this past Friday. Students who wish to go on pass over the long weekend may begin to leave campus after their final school commitment on Wednesday, October 15. They must return to the dorm by 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21. There are activities scheduled throughout the weekend for all who stay on campus.
- Airport Transportation for Residential Students: For all major breaks (Thanksgiving, winter, spring), shuttles will be available to reserve from campus to San Jose and San Francisco airports for residential students. Stevenson books shuttles for residential students traveling to the San Jose and San Francisco airports for Thanksgiving break. If you wish to reserve a spot on the shuttle for your student, you can use this form. Sign ups for the shuttle are due by November 17 by 4 p.m. Spots are limited so be sure to book early. Please note that Stevenson does not reserve shuttles for the return from break. If you wish to reserve a shuttle, you can do so using Groome Transportation.
- College Center News:
- SMARTTRACK Webinar: Parents/guardians of Grades 9-11 students interested in learning more about financial planning for college, please join us for a virtual presentation hosted by SMARTTRACK, "What Parents Need to Know Now About Paying Less for College," this Tuesday, October 14, at 7 p.m. RSVP here to attend.
- UC Application Workshop #2: This optional application workshop for seniors will take place after school this Wednesday, October 15, at 3:05 p.m. in the Treasure Room.
- Junior Parents/Guardians – College Counselor Assignments: Please remind your student to check their email for information about the college counselor selection process. Final counselor assignments will be shared by mid-November.
- College Tours: Parents/guardians of juniors, you have received information about the three college tours we are offering this year: Pacific Northwest, Southern California and the Mid-Atlantic region. Please refer to your Pirate Page for additional details and registration information.
