Carmel Campus Updates
|
Lower and Middle Division
- Please Plan Ahead: Conferences are this week, March 3 – 7. If you have not already done so, please register on your Parent Pirate Page. A reminder that there will be no classes this Friday, March 7, due to all-day conferences.
- Sign Up for Conference After Care: A reminder that after school workshops will be cancelled this week due to conferences. To sign up for after care, please complete this form as soon as possible, as we will be unable to provide childcare without prior registration. Free play will be available for PK – Grade 8 students from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m., Monday – Thursday; there will be no childcare on Friday, March 7. We encourage you to coordinate your conference times to minimize the amount of time your child(ren) need to stay on campus.
- Tuesday's Author Visit: We are partnering with the Carmel Library to bring author Liz Garton Scanlon to campus this Tuesday, March 4, and all students from PK-Grade 8 will have the opportunity to participate. To purchase one of her books, visit Liz's website. If you have one of Liz's books that you'd like to have her sign, please send it to school with your child.
- Parent Association Meeting: Due to conferences, there will not be a Parent Association meeting this month. We will reconvene in April to share updates.
- Literati Book Fair: This Carmel campus event will be April 15-17. Click here for more details, including how to pay for purchased items. Want to volunteer? Sign up here for a shift(s). Also, please join us, April 15, 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m., for the Book Fair Opening Night Kick-off Dinner! You can purchase books, listen to Stevenson "Student Book Talks" and enjoy a free buffet dinner. Please be sure to register here so we are prepared to feed all who want to attend.
Lower Division
- Importance of Conferences: The goal of conferences is to provide a deeper insight into your child(ren)'s academic progress and social-emotional development while also discussing ways to support them in reaching and exceeding their year-end goals. After you meet with your child(ren)'s teachers, we encourage you to reflect with them and celebrate their hard work, discuss their present level of performance and think about their next steps together. These conversations can be meaningful moments of encouragement and growth.
Middle Division
- Conference Details: We're excited for your students to lead their conferences this week with you and their advisors. Each conference lasts 15 minutes, so please plan to arrive early to find parking. The time and location of your conference is on your Pirate Page. Student-led conferences are a time for your child(ren) to share two academic moments of growth or success, and an area for improvement. We hope you will engage them in the process, as they have been preparing their portfolios and conversation topics.
- Personal Belongings: Over spring break, we kindly encourage you to label your child(ren)'s outerwear to help us reunite lost items with their owners. Our lost and found is once again filling up with unclaimed clothing, and labeled items make it much easier to return them.
