Carmel Campus Updates
|
Lower and Middle Divisions
- Lice Screening – Tomorrow: As part of our continued commitment to student health and wellness, we will be conducting a campus-wide lice screening for all Lower and Middle Division students tomorrow, Jan. 5.
- Construction – Carmel Campus: Please excuse our mess as the security perimeter fence construction began over the break. The first steps of the project should not have an effect on pick-up or drop-off; we will communicate our progress as we go.
- After-School Program Update: Please make sure to submit the registration form on your Pirate Page if you haven't already. Workshop placements will be posted this week and classes will begin on Monday, Jan. 12. Free play for Grades K-8 is this week.
Middle Division
- Class Schedules: Grades 7 and 8 students were given paper copies of their second semester schedules on Dec. 19. They are also posted on their Pirate Pages.

Pebble Beach Campus Updates
|
- Choral Concert: Join us this Friday, Jan. 9, at 7 p.m., in Erdman Chapel on the Pebble Beach campus. The concert features our school choir and soloists performing songs centered on the theme of tides and river flow. Faculty members will even be joining in for a piece! Admission is free and a cookie reception will follow.
- Rising Grade 10 and 11 Students: You may apply to be considered for a leave of absence to attend an approved semester or year-long program. Such requests for the 2026-2027 school year must be submitted to Aimée Bates, head of the Upper Division, by Jan. 15, 2026. You can learn more about our semester program and year-away policies in The Navigator on page 70 in the "Spring Semesters or Academic Years Away" section.
- Fall Semester Reports: These reports will be available on Pirate Pages on Friday, Jan. 16. Please keep in mind that the deadline to add or drop most spring semester electives is Friday, Jan. 23. See more details here.
- Casino Night: Our annual event is Friday, Jan. 16, 7 p.m.-9 p.m., in the Treasure Room. Students can learn new games, challenge friends and go head-to-head with faculty dealers at the tables. A fun evening for skilled players and novices alike!
- Pirate Parent Club (PPC) Meeting: Please mark your calendar for our next PPC meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m., in the Treasure Room. More details will be on your Pirate Page soon. After our meeting, please join the entire school community for a special Martin Luther King Jr. holiday assembly.
- New Year's Resolutions – Community Expectations: As we begin the new year, we are recommitting to several long-standing school expectations that support a focused and respectful learning environment. These expectations will be consistently enforced, with clear consequences for noncompliance. We appreciate your partnership in reinforcing these expectations with your students.
- Dress Code: Effective immediately, pajamas may not be worn to school, except on designated spirit days. We will convene a student-faculty group this year to review the dress code and propose updates for the next academic year.
- Cell Phones: To prioritize connection and engagement during the academic day, cell phone use must be intentional and brief, and may only occur in designated areas. Phones will be collected when use does not meet expectations.
- Day Students in Dormitories: Day students are not permitted in dormitories during the academic day. Resident students are only permitted in their own dorm room during the academic day.
- Leaving Campus (Grades 9–11): Students are not permitted to leave campus during the academic day. Day students who need to depart for an appointment or have finished all obligations for the day must check out in the Student Life office before departing campus.
- Residential Life Updates:
- Closed Weekend – Jan. 9-11: All residential students are required to prioritize being present on campus to spend time together after returning from break. While students have regular off-campus privileges, they will not be able to make overnight passes for this weekend.
- Monday Evening Tutoring Update: Starting tomorrow, Jan. 5, we ask that students no longer schedule outside tutoring sessions on Monday evenings. Monday evenings should be reserved for residential events. Please reach out to the Director of Residential Life with any questions.
