All School Update

 

  • Summer Camp – Registration Open! Registration is now open for the 2025 The Camp at Carmel (rising Grades K-4) and The Camp at Pebble Beach (rising Grades 5-8). Registration for Sports Camps and Academic Enrichment programs will open soon.
  • Upcoming Activities: Please remember to check your Pirate Page for a list of upcoming events and activities, including Book Club, Sip & Paint evenings and First Friday Fitness and Fun opportunities – all are always welcome!
  • School Closure: There will be no classes on Monday, January 20, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
  • Cell Phone and Social Media Use: Join Stevenson's Director of Technology, Ally Wenzel, and Chief Culture Officer, Molly Bozzo, and other parents/guardians to learn how to best support and structure your child's exposure and access to both cell phones and social media. We will gather via Zoom on Tuesday, January 14, at 6 p.m. Register here.

Carmel Campus Updates

Lower and Middle Division

  • Parents Association: Our next meeting is Monday, January 13, via Zoom. Parents will sign up for the committees launched at our last meeting. Stay tuned for more details. Please contact Gina Nobida with questions.
  • Assembly: The Lower and Middle Division Assembly is Tuesday, January 14, 8:45 a.m. – 9:15 a.m. School will begin at 8:40 a.m. with attendance. Please note that there will not be an 8:25 a.m. Lower Division Assembly on January 31. Instead, there will now be a Lower and Middle Division Assembly on January 31 in the afternoon, 2:15 p.m. – 3 p.m., in honor of Lunar New Year and launching Black History Month.
  • After school placements are now up on your Pirate Page. If you have any questions, please email Maddy Springfield mspringfield@stevensonschool.org
  • The Intro to Lacrosse workshop is going to be moved from Tuesdays to Mondays due to field availability. If you would like your child to switch into this class on Mondays, inform Maddy by email. If your child is currently registered for Lacrosse on Tuesdays, they will now be placed in Free Play.

Lower Division

  • NWEA MAP Assessment: Students in Grades 3 and 4 will participate in the Measure for Academic Progress (MAP) assessment, testing math and reading for the winter testing window on Monday, January 27 and Tuesday, January 28. A family guide to MAP testing can be found here. Please let your child's teacher or Kate Bitter, Director of Learning Support, know if you have any questions about the assessments.

Middle Division

  • Middle Division Dance: The next dance will be on Friday, January 17, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Carmel Campus Middle Division amphitheater.
  • Reminder: Due to the Lower and Middle Division assembly on Tuesday, school begins at 8:40 a.m. for the Middle Division.

Pebble Beach Campus Updates
  • Mental Health Workshop: On Tuesday, January 14, Molly Hansen, a licensed marriage and family therapist from Ohana, will return to campus to speak about mental fitness and building resiliency skills. Ohana, a part of Montage Health, is Monterey County's transformative mental health program for kids, teens, and parents. Please click this link to read more about Ohana and the resources it provides.
  • Meeting Cancellation: The January 15 Pirate Parent Club meeting has been cancelled due to low registration. If you signed up for a committee you will be contacted via email and the committees will meet online. Thank you for your understanding.
  • Attention Rising Grade 10 and 11 Families: You may apply to be considered for a leave of absence to attend an approved semester or year-long program. Requests for the 2025-2026 school year must be submitted to Aimée Bates, Head of Upper Division, by January 15. You can learn more about our semester and year-away program policies in The Navigator.
  • College Center Offering: The Parent/Guardian Junior College Night #2 will be held on Wednesday, January 15, at 7 p.m., and will offer an overview of the college process for the spring and summer months. Please register on your Pirate Page.
  • Winter Formal: This event, January 18 from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. at Wave Street Studios, will be a memorable evening for our students, featuring a fun and elegant atmosphere with the theme of New York City Lights. Attire will be formal. Students may bring outside guests, provided they submit a completed guest pass to the student life office by January 13.
  • Fall Semester Reports: Check your Pirate Pages on January 16. Reminder: the deadline to add or drop a spring semester elective is Friday, January 24.
  • Sexual Health and Ethics: Grade 9 will attend a lesson on sexual health and ethics on Monday, January 22, focusing on the basics of anatomy, along with best practices to stay healthy and safe. The next issue of Week Ahead will include resources for parents and guardians as you partner in these important conversations.   • Choral Concert: Join us Friday, January 24 at 7 p.m. in the Erdman Memorial Chapel on the Pebble Beach Campus. The concert features several choral ensembles and soloists performing music centered on the theme of joy through music. Admission is free; cookie reception to follow.
  • Grade 12 Parent/Guardian Transitions Gathering: Join us on Thursday, January 30, at 6 p.m. (Zoom will begin at 6:30 p.m.) in the Learning Commons. We'll discuss how to savor these final months before graduation and how to prepare seniors for their next adventures. We will also use the opportunity to talk through the logistics of graduation week and all of the celebrations that lie ahead. Register here. This is a hybrid event.
