Carmel Campus Updates
|
Lower and Middle Divisions
- Picture Day: Monday, September 8, is the Carmel campus picture day. More information will be shared on your Pirate Page as the date approaches.
- Community Building & Parent Social: Please join us for an evening of family connection and celebration at Other Brother Beer Co. on Friday, September 12, 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. Please click here to RSVP by tomorrow, September 1 so we can finalize the catering order.
Lower Division
- Late Start Day: Wednesday, September 3 – Lower Division (Pre-K–4) start time: 8:40 a.m. Families may still drop off Pre-K–4 students as early as 7:30 a.m. for supervised play. Why the late start? This is our faculty meeting time. If possible, we encourage families to keep students at home and bring them closer to the 8:40 a.m. start.
- Back-to-School Night: Tuesday, September 9, 4 p.m.– 5:30 p.m. Meet our teaching staff, visit classrooms, and hear presentations on grade-level expectations, curriculum and instructional programs, schedules, and essential information for a successful school year.
- Morning Car Line & Parking: Please park on surrounding streets when you can; our reserved parking is limited and may fill quickly. Kindergarten families: You do not need to walk your child in. Our staff will greet kindergarteners at car line and help them transition to their classroom or the playground.
- Girls Dress Uniform Options: Some parents visiting the Lands' End website may have seen navy blue jumpers/ dresses listed as options for Lower Division girls. Please note that these navy jumpers are not part of our school's uniform policy. If girls are choosing a dress option they should be in the plaid dress only. For families who have already purchased the jumpers by mistake, Lands' End is honoring returns and exchanges so that you can swap the navy jumpers for the plaid option. Please use this link to begin the return process.
- Student Belongings: We kindly ask that you label all of your child's belongings, including clothing and uniform items (especially jackets and sweaters), water bottles and snack bags. These are the items most often misplaced during the day. We are also teaching students to take responsibility for their materials and labeling greatly supports us in ensuring items make their way back to you.
Middle Division
- Late Start Day: A reminder that classes will begin at 9 a.m. this Wednesday, September 3.
- Virtual Information Night: This "nuts and bolts" meeting, September 3 at 6 p.m., will focus on key guidelines and policies for the 2025–26 school year. For those who cannot attend live, the meeting will be recorded and shared. Please visit your Pirate Page to register and share questions you may have.
- Fall Dance: The first school dance of the year is this Friday, September 5, 7 p.m. – 9 p.m., at the Carmel Youth Center (Torres Street and 4th Avenue, Carmel) and is open to all students in Grades 6-8. The dance will be chaperoned by Middle Division faculty; there is no fee to attend. Reminder: Student cell phones will be collected at the start of the dance and stored in a secure box until they are returned at the end of the evening.
- Back-to-School Night: This event, Tuesday, September 9, 5 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., will start with a welcome reception on the middle division patio. From there, families will transition to classrooms to meet the teachers and learn about your child's exciting year ahead of academic, social and emotional growth. More details will be shared soon.
- Outdoor Education Forms: A reminder that all parents need to complete these forms and have students return them to their advisors, if you have not already done so.

- Co-Curriculars Deadline: This Friday, September 5, is the final day to change after-school co-curriculars for the fall season. To make a change, students should see Mr. Clymo or Mr. Olson in person to discuss the process and desired changes.
- Fall Pirate Cup: Pirate Cup is a year-long competition between students where, through various challenges, they aim to rack up the most points to win at the end of the school year. The Fall Pirate Cup is next Sunday, September 7, 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. Participation is optional – and highly encouraged – for day students. Boarding students who are going on pass for the weekend must plan to return to campus before 2:30 p.m.
- Back-to-School Night: This event for the Upper Division, Wednesday, September 10, 4:30 p.m. – 8 p.m., is an opportunity to learn about each of your child's classes. The evening begins with a reception hosted by the Pirate Parent Club on the Pebble Beach campus, followed by administrator remarks at 5:30 p.m. Families will then follow their child's class schedule. Those unable to be on campus may watch a livestream of opening remarks (a recording will be available as well), and then will receive a written communication from each of their child's teachers introducing their course. Back-to-School Night is a prelude to Fall Family Weekend when families meet individually with each teacher to discuss their student's growth.
- Date Change – Grade 9 Retreat: All Grade 9 students will spend Sunday, September 28, and Monday, September 29, at Camp Koinonia in the Santa Cruz Mountains. More information coming soon.
