All School Update

The first day of school is this Wednesday, August 27!

  • All-School Assembly: We will mark our first week of school with an all-school (Pre-K-Grade 12) assembly this August 29 at 8:30 a.m. in Wandke Amphitheater on the Pebble Beach campus. Following the assembly, all parents/guardians are invited to a community breakfast in Douglas Hall at 9 a.m. to mingle and enjoy coffee and small bites. Please click here to RSVP for the breakfast.
    • Carline Details – Lower and Middle Divisions: Please drop your students off at the Pebble Beach Campus to attend the all-school assembly between 7:30 a.m. – 8 a.m. Students will meet their teachers in the gym and then will be shuttled back to the Carmel Campus after the program.
    • Pre-K Details: Parents/guardians are encouraged to attend the assembly with their student to help ease their transition to school. Students will be bussed back to Carmel campus after the assembly; however, if you prefer to drive your child back, please indicate that your child will not ride the bus using the link provided in the assembly letter with special instructions.
  • The Pirate Parent Club is pleased to invite you to two events!
    • First Friday Fitness and Fun: First Friday is back with a walk from the Pebble Beach campus down to the beach on Friday, September 5, at 8:30 a.m. Meet at Douglas Hall. The group will return to faculty house #1 on Faculty Drive at approximately 9:30 a.m. for homemade smoothies. Please click here to register.
    • Book Club Is Back: The fall book selection is The Wedding People by Alison Espach. You're invited to attend a wonderful evening at the Bookworks in Pacific Grove, November 19, 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m., to discuss the book and enjoy appetizers, drinks and great Pirate company. Bookworks is owned by a Stevenson alumna and parent of a 2025 graduate and has the book in stock. You are welcome even if you haven't finished – or started – the book! Please click here to register.

Carmel Campus Updates

Lower and Middle Divisions

  • After-School Program Updates: Registration closes tonight at midnight! Be sure to visit your Pirate Page to submit the registration form. The first week of school will be all free play; workshops will begin September 2. Contact Maddy Springfield with questions.
  • Back to School Picnic – Carmel Campus: Please join us this Tuesday, August 26, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m., to eat, mingle and celebrate the new school year. Please register here.
  • Picture Day: Monday, September 8, is the Carmel campus picture day. More information will be shared on your Pirate Page as the date approaches.
  • Community Building & Parent Social: Please join us for an evening of family connection and celebration at Other Brother Beer Co. on Friday, September 12, 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. Please click here to RSVP by September 1 so we can finalize the catering order.
  • Late Start Wednesdays: Beginning this year, our late start days will be on Wednesdays, with Lower Division beginning at 8:45 a.m. and Middle Division at 9 a.m. Please note: The first day of school, August 27, will not be a late start day.
  • Pick-Up Reminder: Please use your placards when picking up your children from school. Placards will be distributed during orientation. If you need additional placards for others who drive your children, please contact Jackie DiYanni.
  • Medication Drop-Off: If your child takes daily medication during school hours, please drop off the medications during orientation on Tuesday, August 26, in the main office. Medications must be in their original packaging and labeled with your child's name, medication name, dosage, route and timing. Baskets will be available by division. Questions? Lower Division

  • Orientation & Welcome Event: Families, please join us this Tuesday, August 26, at 10 a.m., starting with a welcome assembly in the amphitheater, then classroom visits and the Welcome Picnic from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Back to School Night: Join us on Tuesday, September 9, 4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., to meet the teaching staff, visit classrooms and hear presentations on grade-level expectations, and to get essential information on curriculum and instructional programs and schedules.

 

Middle Division

  • Orientation Day and Welcome Event: Please join us this Tuesday, August 26, at 10:30 a.m., starting with a chance to mingle with other families on the Middle Division Patio, followed by a welcome assembly at the amphitheater at 11:15 a.m. and advisory meetings at 11:40 a.m. The event will culminate with the Welcome Picnic from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Virtual Information Night: This helpful event, September 3 at 6 p.m., will focus on key guidelines and policies for the 2025–26 school year. Please register here.
  • Back-to-School Night: This event, Tuesday, September 9, 5 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., will start with a welcome reception on the middle division patio. From there, families will transition to classrooms to meet the teachers and learn about your child's exciting year ahead of academic, social and emotional growth. More details will be shared soon.
  • Outdoor Education Camps: Previously named Science Camp, more information will be shared during orientation about the upcoming camps:
    • Grade 5 – Big Sur: September 24 – 26.
    • Grade 6 – Pinnacles: September 23 – 26.
    • Grade 7 – Yosemite: September 22- 26.
    • Grade 8 – Catalina Island: September 22- 26.

Pebble Beach Campus Updates
  • New Student Orientation: All new students are required to attend a full day of orientation activities, Monday, August 25 and Tuesday, August 26, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Dress is casual and we recommend bringing layers and wearing sneakers and sunscreen, as some portions of the day will be outside or at the beach. Breakfast and lunch will be served. Resident activities continue throughout the afternoon and evening.
  • Returning Student Registration and Tech Bootcamp: All returning resident and day students should arrive on Tuesday, August 26, between 1 p.m. – 3 p.m., to register and attend tech bootcamp for the new school year. 
  • First Day of School: We begin our first day at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 27, in advisory. Please note: Future Wednesdays are late-start days with classes beginning at 8:50 a.m. Every class will meet for 30 minutes and our regular class schedule will begin on Thursday, August 28, with a Day 1.
  • Non-Scholastic Co-Curriculars Begin Thursday, August 28: Additional information will be given to students at the Upper Division assembly on Wednesday, August 27. Please see Dean of Co-Curricular Education Erik Olson or Director of Athletics Justin Clymo with questions.
  • Picture Day: Thursday, September 4, is the Pebble Beach campus picture day. More information will be shared on your Pirate Page as the date approaches.
  • Closed Weekend: This weekend, August 29-31, is a closed weekend for boarding students as we settle into school; no overnight weekend passes will be issued.
  • Back-to-School Night: This in-person event for the Upper Division, Wednesday, September 10, 4:30 p.m. – 8 p.m., is an opportunity to learn about each of your child's classes. The evening begins with a reception hosted by the Pirate Parent Club, followed by administrator remarks at 5:30 p.m. Families will then follow their child's class schedule. Those unable to be on campus may watch a livestream of opening remarks (a recording will be available as well), and then will receive a written communication from each of their child's teachers introducing their course. Back-to-School Night is a prelude to Fall Family Weekend when families meet individually with each teacher to discuss their student's growth.
  • Check Your Pirate Page: Registration and descriptions for fun parent/guardian events are listed on the home page and your volunteer form can be found on the volunteering tab – this is where you can indicate the types of volunteer opportunities you would like to hear more about. You can make changes to your form at any time. Make sure to "favorite" the link to your Pirate Page so you can go back often to check for new events and opportunities.
