Dear [Family Name],

I am honored you are exploring Stevenson's Middle Division (Grades 5-8) for your child.

Middle school is a pivotal time of tremendous growth. At Stevenson, we meet students where they are: academically curious, socially evolving and ready to be challenged in an environment that values both rigor and joy.

Our motto — "Suaviter in modo, fortiter in re" (gentle in manner, resolute in deed) — captures our approach: warmth, structure and high expectations.

Academic Excellence With Purpose

We maintain the highest standards while developing well-rounded, purpose-driven students. Our curriculum spans mathematics, analytical writing, Spanish immersion, critical history, hands-on STEM and year-long fine arts. We issue skills-based grades from Grade 5 onwards for transparency and student ownership.

"Every friend and every teacher really helped me grow since fifth grade. This school assists you in becoming who you will be in the coming years and prepares you for life beyond middle school."

— Noah, Stevenson student

The Whole Student

Every Stevenson student is known, supported, and encouraged through our personalized Advisory program, which connects each child with a dedicated faculty mentor. Our after-school program — included in tuition — offers enriching opportunities such as MATE Robotics, horseback riding, surfing, and eight interscholastic sports.

Our signature weeklong outdoor education experiences build confidence, character, and community. After our Grade 7 Yosemite trip, for example, students quietly offered to carry classmates' backpacks during a difficult hike — without being asked. Moments like these capture the heart of the Stevenson difference.

The Pre-K – Grade 12 Advantage

Your child progresses seamlessly to the Upper Division with no reapplication, and accesses college counseling and exceptional facilities across both campuses.

I would love to welcome you to campus.

Regards,

Scott Parker
