Dear Grade 11 Families,

Greetings from the College Center!

We've enjoyed the steady rhythm of juniors visiting our offices over the past couple of months, and as spring wanes and your attention turns to final assessments, summer activities, and college applications, we look forward to providing continued support, programming, resources, and expertise.

Ongoing
Register for College Rep visits!

Seniors are highly encouraged to attend meetings with visiting college representatives this fall. These representatives are often the admission officers who will be reviewing applications from our Central Coast region—making this a wonderful opportunity to build personal connections.

Students must register at least 24 hours in advance on Scoir:

  • Check out the college reps visiting Stevenson next week, and be sure to register to attend through your Scoir account!
  • Remember to ask your teacher for permission to miss class and you are responsible for make-up assignments.
  • Attendance will be taken at each session.

Register for October 1st SAT

Students should visit their Pirate Pages to register for the October 1st SAT. Deadline to Register is Sept. 19, and all required device and softward checks must be complete by Sept. 26.

Summer Preparation
Summer Checklist Coming Soon

Rising seniors will soon receive a comprehensive checklist of college application tasks to complete over the summer months. The College Center will provide pre-recorded videos demonstrating Common Application completion, along with detailed presentations covering personal essay strategies, UC personal insight questions, and school-specific supplements. These resources are designed to give students a structured approach to tackling application components and staying on track during the summer break.

Choose Your "Why" This Summer

We encourage students to pursue activities that genuinely challenge and excite them rather than just resume-builders. This could mean a job, internship, volunteering, leadership development, language immersion, courses at Monterey Peninsula College, pre-college programs, or enrichment courses. As you finalize plans, prioritize understanding why you’re choosing activities over simply what you’re doing. The most valuable summer experiences align with your authentic interests and goals.

February and March were busy months with the Southern California and East Coast college trips, college counseling workshop 2, and the SAT School Day. Aspiring visual and performing artists had an opportunity to attend College and Career Pathways in the Visual and Performing Arts, and we enjoyed seeing many parents and guardians at our coffee as well.
