After an extensive search Stevenson is excited to welcome Scott Parker as the incoming middle division head, who will join us on campus this fall.

Scott is currently associate head of school at Chestnut Hill School, a PK-6 school in Chestnut Hill, MA. He was previously assistant head of school at New Hampton School, grades 9-PG in New Hampton, NH. Prior to that role, Scott was head of school from 2013 to 2020 at The Presentation School, a K-8 in Sonoma, CA. In addition to these senior leadership roles, Scott’s background includes 13 years at Woodside Priory School in Portola Valley, CA, six of those years as dean of students, seven as theology department chair/instructor, and one-year teaching theology and coaching track at Boston College High School in Dorchester, MA. Scott has also served as a trustee of Portola Valley School District.

Scott earned a B.A. in political science/religious studies at Montana State University, and an M.T.S. in Religion and Secondary Education from Harvard University, Cambridge, MA. On accepting the position, Scott said, “I am thrilled and honored to join the Stevenson community this summer. It was evident during my visit that the school community is full of bright and kind kids and thoughtful, energized teachers. It feels like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to lead the middle division at such an exciting time in the school’s life. My own decision was made easy due to the warmth of the staff and the palpable excitement about where Stevenson is already and where it still wants to go. My wife Alicia and I are so excited to make the Carmel area our home.”
