In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Stevenson has adjusted its application requirements for the Fall 2021 application cycle.
Standardized testing will be an optional part of the application for students applying for Fall 2021 consideration.
Stevenson will continue to accept SSAT and ISEE scores for applicants who choose to submit them. For priority consideration, applicants who opt to include testing should complete the test by early January.
Applicants who do not submit test scores will not be disadvantaged in the admissions process.
Applicants to Grade 9 or 10
Students may elect to take one of the following standardized tests:
- Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) – Preferred
- Independent Schools Entrance Exam (ISEE)
Applicants to Grade 11 or 12
Students may elect to submit results from the PSAT or SAT in lieu of the SSAT or ISEE.
International Student Applicants
Since Stevenson does not offer an English as a Second Language or English Language Learner (ESL/ELL) program, all candidates must demonstrate proficiency in oral and written English. For priority consideration, applicants should complete the required testing by early January.
Students are required to take one of the following tests:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language, internet-based (TOEFL iBT), preferred
- Duolingo English Test (DET)
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
Release official scores to Stevenson using our school name or the codes listed above. All test results must be sent to Stevenson directly from the testing organization. We will not accept score reports from the applicant’s family, agents, or consultants.
