Reimagining World Languages
The Spanish team in Stevenson’s World Language Department is reimagining the Spanish curriculum to focus on proficiency, communication and culture. Key to this work is establishing a PK-12 curriculum that intentionally targets learning outcomes for each year and level a student would study Spanish. Led by Department Chair Brooke Higgins ’92, the team is inspired by a recent Defense Language Institute workshop that highlighted the opportunity to showcase the diversity of Spanish speakers around the world in order to provide students with a more authentic world language experience.
