A Message From the Dean

I joined the Stevenson community in 2020 as the learning services coordinator, and witnessed our School become an even stronger and more unified community as we met each new challenge. I am honored to have been appointed to now serve as the dean of the lower division, and in that role write to welcome you and your family to the new school year!

This summer, our teachers participated in a range of professional development experiences in order to prepare for what’s to come. This work included studies in the teaching of reading and writing, math, social and emotional learning, and–for all of our PK-4 teachers–a 30-hour comprehensive Orton-Gillingham course focusing on multi-sensory instruction in reading, writing, and spelling. We couldn’t be more eager or excited for our students to return!

We look forward to welcoming all students for orientation on September 7, with classes beginning the next day. During orientation, students will be greeted by their teachers and preview their classrooms.

I look forward to deepening our partnership with you in support of your children. Thank you for your continued patience and trust and GO PIRATES!
